Let’s try to share my experiences with the world!

This is mostly just a test to see how viable it is to mount a folder from my NAS share to my Nginx server, and then serve a site by simply adding files to my NAS folder. As it turns out, it works very well!

I played around with the idea of website using my extremely limited experience with writing HTML to produce a site that looks like it’s from the 90s, but static site generators seem to be all the rage nowadays so I couldn’t pass up the chance to make my project a little bit more complex (as usual…).

Fortunately, this Hugo static site generator I decided to use happens to be very easy to use and get started with! Found a simple theme to go with, so I don’t even have to think on how to make a visually simple, yet modern site.

I may revisit my idea of a ‘brutalist’ site, but this seems perfectly fine for now.

PS: Check out Berkshire Hathaway’s fantastically simple site (yes, that multi-billion dollar company) for what I was originally imagining for myself: https://berkshirehathaway.com/
